Short Answer
Reach out to trusted ministries or networks for help, and look for churches that are committed to teaching God’s Word faithfully.
The Overview
Finding a good church in a new place can feel overwhelming, especially if you don’t know the area. One helpful approach is to seek guidance from trusted ministries, pastors, or church networks. Many ministries have connections across different regions and can help recommend biblically sound churches.
Church networks and ministries often maintain relationships with like-minded congregations that prioritize the authority and inerrancy of Scripture. By reaching out—through email, websites, or ministry contacts—you can tap into these networks and receive recommendations that align with solid biblical teaching.
Another key factor is knowing what to look for. A healthy church is not defined by size or popularity but by its commitment to teaching God’s Word, making disciples, and living out biblical truth. Churches that prioritize Scripture, sound doctrine, and spiritual growth are worth pursuing.
Church planting is also an important part of this process. Many ministries actively plant new churches in different regions to meet the need for biblically grounded communities. These newly planted churches can often be strong options, as they are built with a clear vision and doctrinal foundation.
Ultimately, finding a church may take some effort and research, but you are not alone. By seeking help, using available networks, and focusing on biblical priorities, you can find a place to grow and be spiritually nourished.

Let’s talk to Matilda. Matilda, you’re on the air with pastor Mike. How can I help? Yes. Thank you for taking my call. I had a question about my kids moved to Alaska. Okay. And I wondered if you know of a good church in that area. I don’t. Off the top of my head, I don’t even know where that city is.
I’ve never even heard of it. But I’ll tell you what. If you go to pastor, there is a there’s an email there. If you text the office at focal point, that’s where it’ll take you. If you go to calm, we’ll do what we can. We’ve got a big set of volunteers over there and we’ll do a little research.
And if you email us and you got a return email, we’ll see what we can do to find something. And our team, we love all of our listeners. And we will do what we can and will search out our network of contacts. And maybe we’ve got some listeners up there, maybe some people that have listened to our podcast, and we’ll see what we can find and we’ll do our best.
But I know nothing off the top of my head. Okay, okay. Thank you so much. God bless your day. Okay, Matilda, we’ll do what we can do. All right. 1-877-913-5357. And, you know, we will do what we can. I mean, there are people if you’re looking for a church, I mean, we have no denomination other than compass churches.
We do plant churches. I just got back from a trip in Idaho. We’re planning churches all the time. I spoke at our Compass Bible Church of Treasure Valley. We’ve got, I don’t know, 1500 people in that church. They’re about ready to plant a brand new church. And we we’re calling it South Valley, which is in a place called kava, which is just south of Meridian.
And I met with our plant team there, and we hope to plant a thriving, healthy church there starting in March of next year. And we’re always working to plant new Jersey. We have a handful of Compass Bible churches here in the United States, and we we believe in that, and we hope every one of those will be a great church that holds the Word of God high.
But beyond that, we try to network with other churches that have the same commitment to the inerrancy of God’s Word. And so when we meet those churches, we certainly try to jot them down. And if you want to know about a church in your area, if we can help you, go to pastor Mike and click on the email there and we’ll do what we can to help you.
